What do you do as a semi-intelligent dog lady when you’re hungry, bored and need to kill time? You approach your work of your own volition, following the motto: “You’re a bitch.” Given the hole-filled fence around the “Herchen Farm”, Kylie, now called Kylie at the Märkisch Buchholz Animal Shelter, didn’t even need to use her excellent climbing skills. It was too bad that my two-legged friends, who were being insulted on the street in front of my garden, did not realize that I was trying to make contact with them, barking loudly, so I got scared and called the security authorities out of fear. .

But from the point of view of the two-legged friends, the fear and frustration were understandable. First of all, according to zookeeper Manuela Budic, it was because Kylie went on a rant with her handsome son Caruso, who betrayed the genes of the Great Dane’s supposed father. On the other hand, the healthy German Shepherd mix has beautiful brown eyes and a “jangling” sound that is charming, but her white teeth are just as impressive.

Kylie, a German Shepherd mix, loves people and cuddles.

Despite their seemingly aggressive behavior, Kylie and Caruso then peacefully ran up and greeted the animal handlers around Manuela Budic, who had been assigned by security officials. The zookeeper then translates the dog’s answer to Budich’s question, “Who are you?” as “Hello!” in a way that humans can understand. People are great! She quickly realized that Kylie already knew the lead. She was clearly unknown to Caruso. Nevertheless, both animals could have easily been taken to a “dog trap” at an animal shelter.

Owners were overwhelmed – gardens, stables and barns were “managed” by dogs

The dog’s owner, an elderly man, was apparently overwhelmed and unable to secure a safe storage environment for the dog, so he handed it over to police. Kylie’s other two sons, Domingo and Stanley, still needed to be secured. According to Manuela Budic, this too worked very well, partly through persuasion and partly through bribery with “dog biscuits”. According to her information, the farm itself did not seem very attractive.

“It was very winding and there were holes in the fence. It was easy for the dogs to escape,” she recalls. She then discovered the remains of chickens that once lived on her farm. The stables were empty, as the dogs had fallen victim to boredom and hunger and had to fend for themselves due to lack of food. The dogs relieved themselves in the barn. Manuela Budic wrinkled her nose as if the smell was still in the air.

Kylie the Dog – The imaginative escape master shows off his climbing skills

Manuela Budic reports that upon arriving at the shelter, Kylie not only learned to take care of herself, but also revealed that she is an escape expert and a true mountaineer. That’s what it means. She escaped several escapes, and one morning she even greeted her and her colleague Nancy Seifert from the roof of the animal shelter. They then discovered a gap above the hallway door. “She then picked herself up, pushed herself further around the corner to her nemesis’ kennel, and managed to get over the gate. She then had free access to the roof.”

Märkisch Buchholz Animal Shelter – Here are some things to consider when placing Kylie

When rehoming Kylie, the dog’s climbing and relationship with other dogs need to be taken into account, said Budic, the animal caretaker. “Kylie would ideally be kept in an apartment if the garden is not escape-proof, like in Fort Knox. Added to this is the fact that Kylie has an innate intolerance of other animals and an experienced hunting instinct. It will keep her alive.”A depopulated chicken farm. “She shouldn’t have a British lawn either,” she added. Because Kylie also wants to dig into the lawn.

She then showed off how agile 4-year-old Kylie is during a photo shoot. Nancy Seifert is busy keeping her apparently “rested” dog on a leash. Kylie sniffs here, marks it, moves first to one side, then to the other, and finally wraps the dog leash around the trunk of the tree. After a few minutes, just a few meters away, she composes herself and realizes that it’s not just her back that’s in her photo.
