A walk with her dog turned into a nightmare for a 41-year-old woman from Rosenheim. The situation further escalated after a 40-year-old German shepherd attacked her dog. Then the man became violent.

Rosenheim –I’m still in deep shock. Even several days after the incident. On Thursday, April 25, a 41-year-old man from Rosenheim, who wished to remain anonymous, went for a walk along the River Indam with his Jack Russell. A man (40) came towards her on her bicycle at soccer field height. “I saw his German shepherd from a distance,” the 41-year-old recalls.

No leash required in this area

The two were not strangers. The German shepherd had already attacked his four-legged friend in the past, but both dogs were leashed at the time, which prevented anything worse. Not like Thursday evening. There is no need for a leash in this area of Indham. Christian Barbe, press spokesperson for the city of Rosenheim, confirmed this in an interview with OVB.

While the 41-year-old was still thinking about where to take her dog, the German shepherd was already standing in front of her, teeth bared, attacking the Jack Russell. “He then hit the German shepherd with the leash and let the dog go,” the Rosenheim resident said. She wasn’t friendly. She was too afraid that something would happen to her pet animals. “Two years ago, my friend’s dog was scratched by a German shepherd. I kept having the image in my head,” says the 41-year-old.

With the help of a 40-year-old man, the two animals were eventually separated. “Then I wanted to call the police,” says the Rosenheim resident. As it turned out, this was the second time the German Shepherd incident had occurred. But instead of giving his name and phone number, the man suddenly became violent. “He choked me, covered his mouth and knocked my glasses off my face,” she said by phone.

Somehow despite everything she managed to call for help. When the man heard this and ran towards him, the 40-year-old man ran away. “We then called the police together,” says the 40-year-old. Police officers immediately went to the scene, took up the case, and based on the perpetrator’s description, quickly deduced who the culprit was.
