Müllacker/Illingen. On Saturday morning, there was a traffic accident between Lienzingen and Illingen involving a dog loose on the road.

According to current information from the police, the accident occurred as follows. The 67-year-old driver of the Kia car was driving from Illingen on the B 35 in the direction of Lienzingen. Approximately 1 km before the Lienzingen exit, vehicular traffic in the area came to a halt as an orphaned dog ran loose on the road. The Kia driver also stopped his vehicle here. Police said the 55-year-old driver of the following Renault car was slow to recognize the car and crashed into the stationary Kia car.

The force of the impact sent the car across oncoming traffic and into the woods on the left side of the road in the direction of Lienzingen. Meanwhile, the Renault veered to the right and came to rest in a ditch. According to current information, the two drivers were not injured.

Both vehicles were rendered inoperable and had to be towed away, with damages estimated at around 30,000 euros. The B35 had to be closed in both directions until approximately 12pm while the accident was recorded and his two vehicles recovered.

The released dog could not be caught at the accident scene and went missing.
