What happened last Sunday evening?

The cargo ship was docked in the winter port of Mainz near the Victor Hugo Bank, a spokesperson said.

At around 6:30 p.m., a passerby saw the puppy suddenly jump into the Rhine River. Fortunately, people were able to pull the dog out of the water and called the police.

However, since no one was found on board, the officers first took the dog to the station.

And there, of course, the pup was cared for in a touching way, allowed to warm up and, according to a police spokesperson, was also said to be “having fun.” There were definitely some treats and a cuddle or two.

Meanwhile, water police also found the puppy on the cargo ship and notified the owner.

So, about 30 minutes later, the dog was returned to its relieved owner.
