Recklinghausen (ots)

Over the weekend, there was an attempted break-in to a detached house on Im Reitwinkelstrasse in Recklinghausen. Thanks to additional anti-theft measures, the culprit failed and did not break into the house. According to the investigation so far, the robbers attempted to enter the building through a patio door. However, the door is fitted with a special door lock so that it can only be opened from the inside. The culprits fled without their loot. The attempted break-in occurred sometime between Friday morning and Monday afternoon. If you see anything suspicious during this time, please contact police.

At least one burglary also failed in Gladbeck and escaped before anything was stolen. On the night between Monday and Tuesday, one or more unknown assailants tried to break into the first floor of an apartment building on Rothheide Street. Around 2:50 a.m., someone tried to break open the patio door. The dog noticed the noise and barked to scare the culprit.
