A pilot and his dog miraculously survived when a plane crashed into the Pacific Ocean off the coast of California. The unidentified man was piloting a single-engine Piper PA-32 Cherokee Six that crashed off the coast of Rancho Palos Verdes at 5:20 p.m., the New York Post reported.

The man and his dog managed to escape from the plane after the crash. They swam about 200 meters to shore near Trump National Golf Club in Los Angeles. This was announced by the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department (LASD).

The plane sank after the crash

Witnesses who witnessed the crash immediately alerted rescue services. Emergency responders from the Sheriff’s Air Rescue Team 5, as well as agents from the Lomita Police Station and LASD’s Special Enforcement Division, responded to the scene.

Emergency services found the man and his dog safely on shore. The Los Angeles County Fire Department told the Los Angeles Times that the pilot was not injured in the incident.

This machine was manufactured in 1981 and sank after an accident. The Federal Aviation Administration told the New York Post that an “engine issue” may have been the cause of the crash.
